Calls from India, and running up to doors!!
Happy Monday Friends!! Love you all so much, and WOW! This week went by so fast!! I can't believe I have already been in Florida for a month, and I haven't seen an alligator yet! Craziness:))
I think I will always remember this week from my mission for so many reasons. Yesterday after church, my companion and I got a call from this boy we have been teaching some of the lessons to from INDIA!! It was so amazing to see his face, and the second he started talking I couldn't help, but cry! I really could see the light of Christ in his eyes and his desire to come closer to Christ. He had questions about baptism and the priesthood, and at the end of our lesson he said... HE WANTS TO BE BAPTIZED!!! Sister Mcleod and I are going to do everything in our power to find missionaries that could go teach him and help him!! Ugh I just wish he was here! At the end of the lesson, he said the closing prayer, he said how grateful he was for the sisters lesson! I bet you can guess what happened next... I cried lol. I just got the overpowering feeling of why I am serving a mission! Even if I don't get to teach and baptize tons of people, I am planting seeds, and that is what matters. I absolutely LOVE being a missionary haha and I know I say that all the time, but it's so true!
This week I was studying about the Plan of Salvation, and Sister Mcleod and I got to make a video for our content team about the purpose of life. I found this really awesome general conference talk from April 2017 by Jeffrey R. Holland called "Songs Sung and Unsung." Here are some quotes that I LOVE lol
1. "Jesus listening can hear the songs you cannot sing."
2. "In those moments when the melody of joy falters below our power of expression, we may have to stand silent for a time and simply listen to others, drawing strength from the splendor of the music around us"
3. "Surely it follows that in singing the anthems of eternity, we should stand as close as humanly possible to the Savior and Redeemer of the world—who has absolutely perfect pitch."
It is so important to know that we are all sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father, and He loves us more than we can comprehend. He has given us the greatest gifts that are just for us! We are unique, and God loves us perfectly even though we aren't perfect.
I really did have the best week and we went biking to Bolay which you will see in my pictures below. BOLAY IS ACTUALLY THE MOST AMAZING THING EVER!! If you ever come to Florida, go to Bolay, and don't just walk, RUN!!
Okay one last thing:) one of the young men in the ward told us that when we go to their house for dinner, we have to run to the door like the missionaries do in a video that we showed to their family. So now, every Sunday, we run to the door lol anyways love you all, and I'll talk to you next week;)
Love,
Sister Jensen
