Great Gatsby dreams

This week was a blur! Quite literally! I was living the Great Gatsby dreams. And you'll see what I mean as you read the rest of this email:)  To start things off, being in a YSA branch is so different! They are always listening to music and it kills me because I want to break out into a dance so bad, but I can't! For example, our branch had a big Halloween dance this Saturday, and we went for a little so we could meet our friends there and be with the ward members. They were playing serious jams, soooo my comp almost lost it and she ran into the hallway and we did the worm hahaha oh the things we do as missionaries just amaze me lol. Oh and we went to the FAU campus this week, and it just so happens they had a live rock band playing heavy medal music! It was amazing!  The saddest part of the week is that our friend Ethan broke up with us!! *cries* we went to chik-fil-A to meet up, and he was there waiting for us! Yay right?! It was until he said he had to go to the bath...

A Beautiful Disaster

Oh my goodness! I am overwhelmed by all of the birthday wishes! First, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! It means the world! Love you lots! Now let's get to business haha To start things off we have a cursed Tiki statue in our house from Haiti... everything around it falls and it's just the creepiest thing on this planet! We do not touch it obviously haha Moving on to better things:) we had the most amazing miracle this week! So we were trying to plan for our friend Ethan's lesson and we really wanted to give him a Book of Mormon, but we didn't have anymore! We did however have one Creole Book of Mormon in our car and we said if we prayed hard enough it could turn into an English one haha (joking, but also not joking) we decided to search the house for one because there had to be one somewhere right? Right! I'm not even exaggerating when I say that all I did was touch a pillow and out of nowhere a box falls and inside there is 1 English Book of Mormon!! We were all screaming...

"Adventure is out there!"

Oh hello again! Another week another crazy experience! So turns out, being a missionary in the YSA branches are a lot different than being a missionary in family wards haha. Let me explain myself:)  First, Sister Peterson and I went on our first adventure to the college campus, and I'm just going to say it felt like the first day of school. It was so weird!! Our generation is just built different these days haha when we would go up and talk to people, they were either super nice and talkative, or so bored. And you could definitely tell. It was very much black and white. But! We met 4 new amazing people that we have slowly been able to reach out to and get to know better, and it was just a little tender miracle for our very first day out in the wilderness! Now let me tell you about our first phone call... it starts out, "yo! What's up?" When I say my jaw dropped, I'm pretty sure it touched the floor lol I'm going to have to get used to this for sure. I just d...

Throwing around "gospel glitter!"

Hey! Another miracle filled week coming at ya! First things first, I'm leaving Boynton! Kinda... I have been serving in a family ward my whole mission, and now I'm off to a YSA branch in Boynton Beach! So I'm not leaving the promised land, but I'm just looking for different people! "ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE!" Hopefully you all know what movie that's from!  Anyways, this week Sister Anderson and I have really been focusing on the individual people more than the numbers of people we are finding, and the miracles have been overflowing!  Okay here's the one of many miracles: Jay and his FAMILY! We finally were able to meet up with Jay and when we biked up to his house, his fiance and 2 kids were outside playing with chalk and we started teaching them the plan of Salvation!! We love families here! It's the coolest thing to see them strengthen eachother and grow together! And then the coolest thing happened. We have been trying to meet with this woman Be...

Breaking news: it hit 67 degrees in Florida!!

Hey yall! Welcome to my life... so crazy news, 7 MONTHS AS A MISSIONARY! I can't even believe how fast the time has gone by! It reminds me to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity! But this week was one for the books; I know, I say that literally every week, but time goes by when you are having fun right? Right.  To start all things off, Hurricane Ian... it was hitting our mission in Naples and Fort Meyers, which is on the gulf and I am on the East coast in Boynton Beach! We were just getting all rain, lightning, and wind oh my! Haha but because of that, we were on house arrest and had to stay inside all day Wednesday! I was going to die! I'm not even being dramatic; I could have died lol. But it's all good! We know God provides for His missionaries and we found 3 new people to teach that day over the phone! Woot woot!  We were able to go out on Tuesday and we had a grand idea to go to the grocery store with umbrellas and help people get to their cars! I...
