Flying Pizza
Hello my friends! What a week it has been! The week flew by and it felt like yesterday was my first pday but here we are and I'm on to my second pday! I don't even know where to begin! First, last pday my companion and I are alligator sandwiches! They were surprisingly really good and it tasted like really salty chicken! Kind of different, but now I can check that off the bucket list. Unfortunately, I have not seen a real live alligator, but the amount of lizards around here is insane! Everywhere you look there is a lizard and they run right in front of you when you are walking. I am thinking about keeping one as a pet, but we will see;)
There have been so many miracles this week. One in particular happened on Wednesday! Sister Mcleod and I were driving back from a dinner appointment and before we started driving, we said a prayer to help us find the people that needed to hear our message. We turned down a random street and I looked at the house 525, and I felt prompted to go to that house, but I didn't say anything. We kept driving, and we went up to 2 other houses, and no one answered. I told my companion we should go back to the house 525, and when we knocked on the door, a mom, dad, and their little boy answered the door!! We were able to share a scripture from the Book of Mormon (Ether 12:27) They told us that we can come back again, so Sister McLeod and I are going back tomorrow to share another message!! How exciting is that? Always listen to the promptings of the spirit, even if they are small.
So I live in an apartment with 3 other sisters, including my companion. These sisters are the best and we have so much fun together! Sister Merill is obsessed with learning the Rubix cube, so we all got Rubix cubes at the store today to learn together! Sister McLeod is obsessed with cinnamon rolls. I guess that is her favorite food haha and the excitement on her face when we made them for general conference, was unlike anything else! Sister Hardy is so cute and she is always vlogging!
One of the best experiences I had this week was listening to general conference! I don't think I have ever paid so much attention in a general conference before. I love our prophet so much, and everything he said! My favorite talk was Jeffrey R. Holland! Here are some of the things I liked about his talk:
1. We can never run away from who we are. We are children of God!
2. Everyone has the everlasting light of Christ in our souls
3. We are stronger than we think
4. "Do not deny us the chance to have you"
I know that Heavenly Father loves each and every one of His children perfectly and has created a perfect and personal plan for each and every one of us! I know that Jesus Christ suffered for our sins so we don't have to go through life alone. We will never be alone!
Okay the funniest thing happened. At least I thought it was funny haha but we had to take the trash to the dumpster at our apartment place, and we put the old pizza box on top of the car so it wouldn't stink. Sister Merill stood outside the window holding the pizza box and Sister Mcleod stepped on the gas, and the next thing we know is the pizza is flying through the air and lands flat on the street! We thought it was so funny. I hope you think it's funny too or that would be AWKWARD lol
Last thing!! We are teaching these twin boys to prepare for baptism and they are the cutest and have the sweetest spirits. We are going to teach them on Friday, and we had dinner with them last Friday! They make their own toys out of fabric! I seriously love them! I am so grateful that I get to see them grow in the gospel and in their testimonies!
Love you all so much, and I'll talk to you next week!
Sincerely,
Sister Ella Jensen
