The one where they were quarantined
Oh hey!! Happy Monday again haha! Okay get ready... I have been in Florida for 2 MONTHS!! WHAT?!?! Also, get this, I only have 10 more transfers left for my whole mission! This week was definitely not the same as most weeks haha. All four of us Sisters that live together got sick!! Only one of us survived, and that would be Sister Hardy lol! We all had to quarantine ourselves from Tuesday to Thursday! I think we were going insane, but we had to get covid tests, and luckily, they all came back negative, so we could go out in public now hahaha.
As the week went on, we were able to get our of the house, and we delivered flowers to some of the sweet ladies in our ward! It was so fun to visit, and get to know them more:) Also, it was so flooded in our area on of the days this week!! When we got to the Gonzalez's house for dinner, the boys came running out and the water was to their knees, but they had to come give hugs haha! They are actually the cutest!
During my studies this week, I found so many cool things, so I thought I would share hehe:
In Alma 37 it says that we need to take care of sacred things and it got me thinking about what some of those sacred things are in my life. God's children are sacred! As we love and serve those around us, we can become more like Jesus Christ and learn more about our selves and our Father in Heaven!
In our companion study this week, we wanted to study on the topic of being humble, but having confidence. As we studied we came upon the word meek. Meekness means to be willing to follow God's will. Jesus Christ is the greatest example of meekness and humility! When He was in the Garden of Gethsemane, He probably was thinking about how hard this was going to be for Him, but He came to God, with everything, and Heavenly Father gave Him the strength He needed! I want to have that kind of humility in my life. It's so important to remember that attributes of Christ come day by day. As we practice them, and ask Heavenly Father for help, those attributes we seek for will grow:)
Okay one more thing haha sorry! I was reading a general conference talk given by Dieter F. Uchtdorf this week called God will do something unimaginable. So I'm going to share my favorite parts haha:)
"In a way we are seeds. And for seeds to grow to reach their full potential, they must be buried before they can sprout... though at times we may feel buried by the trials of life, or surrounded by emotional darkness, the love of God and the blessings of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ will bring something unimaginable to spring forth."
This talk is absolutely amazing, and if I could copy and paste the whole thing in this email, I WOULD!! Our Heavenly Father knows us and is so aware of us. He will never abandon us. And something that I try to remember is that we can not choose the adversity we encounter, but we can choose how we prepare and how we react! God has unimaginable things in store for all of us:) I am so grateful to be a member of this church and to be part of this amazing work! I love you all, and I'll talk to you next week!!!
XOXO,
Sister Jensen
