Busy making eggrolls
Hello everyone!! AAAHHH I had the best week ever, do you want me to tell you about it?! Yes? No? Well, I'm going to do it anyways haha and brace yourselves now, because it might be a long email...
First. Melissa. Remember her? She struggles with some addictions. The worst thing ever happened! So she was on date to be baptized August 27th, but last week we were having a hard time getting in touch with her, so we decided to go to her house. Like you should as a missionary lol. But this was not an LOL moment. When we got there, she was in such a bad place physically and mentally, we had to call 911! They took her away and now she is getting help! Which is so amazing:) but it just broke my heart to see her in that state! I think that was one of the biggest moments in my life that I have sincerely loved someone the same way God does. It just makes me think what Heavenly Father thinks when we make mistakes! Obviously, He is always waiting for us to come back to Him:) and then we were so wrought why Heavenly Father would prompt us to put her on date??? And then it hit us. We had to have that daily contact with her because if we didn't, no one would ever have known what state she is in, and no one could have helped her get help! God is so good:)
Okay next thing on the list, the past couple lessons we have had have been so BOMB! One in particular, Adam. 2 lessons actually. The first one was over the phone, and he told us that he was reading from the Book of Mormon!! On his own!!! And understanding it!!!! And applying it to his own life!!!!!!! Yep! He's muy cool:) and then we had a lesson with him on Tuesday and man oh man. God is so good! I know I keep saying that, but it's so true! Before I started personal study that morning, I prayed and asked what I needed to study today so I can help our friends we are teaching. Let me give you a little preview of what was going on in my head during that prayer: "Mormon, Mormon, Mormon, Mormon." So I was like okay, I'll read Mormon. And then I asked what chapter I needed to read, and I got the thought, "9,9,9,9,9,9." So I read Mormon 9 for my personal study about repentance. And when we went for our lesson, everything I read was exactly what he needed to hear! The spirit was so strong and I know God was speaking to him through me!! It was the coolest experience! And of course I don't remember anything that I said. BECAUSE IT WAS THE SPIRIT!
Haha so the awko taco thing that happened this week was we went to a relief society activity with our friend Wisline, and the activity was something out of the ordinary... at least for us... we took a love language quiz haha and I guess my highest one is quality time:) if you were curious. Just thought I'd put that in there:)
Cool flex: we got to see and hear a general authority this weekend for stake conference. We didn't get to go on Saturday because our friend Adam was too "busy making eggrolls!" LOL what?!?! Yep. The eggrolls can wait Adam! I'm kidding. But not really lol.
Okay, if you lasted this long, you are a homie for sure haha! But one last thing, we are teaching our friend Kenneth, and when we called him on Monday, he said he wanted us to meet his friend that needs God in her life. Then out of nowhere, he adds her to our phone call and we set up a time to teach her. We decided to teach her the gospel of Jesus Christ, and at the end of our lesson, we both felt prompted to ask her if she wants to be baptized. She said YES! It's so crazy! I never would have thought to do that in our very first lesson, but God said she's ready. So that's what we did.
Something I've realized this week, and gained a testimony of is having faith. I've walked into lessons and situations without a thing in mind, but I know Heavenly Father has my back. And He did. Every day this week. And I know He will continually have my back! The miracles that I saw when I just walked with blind faith, is absolutely incredible! This gospel is amazing! God is so good! And I love my Savior, Jesus Christ:)
I hope ya'll have an amazing week, and I'll talk to you later!
Love,
Sister Jensen
