Throwing around "gospel glitter!"
Hey! Another miracle filled week coming at ya! First things first, I'm leaving Boynton! Kinda... I have been serving in a family ward my whole mission, and now I'm off to a YSA branch in Boynton Beach! So I'm not leaving the promised land, but I'm just looking for different people! "ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE!" Hopefully you all know what movie that's from!
Anyways, this week Sister Anderson and I have really been focusing on the individual people more than the numbers of people we are finding, and the miracles have been overflowing!
Okay here's the one of many miracles: Jay and his FAMILY! We finally were able to meet up with Jay and when we biked up to his house, his fiance and 2 kids were outside playing with chalk and we started teaching them the plan of Salvation!! We love families here! It's the coolest thing to see them strengthen eachother and grow together! And then the coolest thing happened. We have been trying to meet with this woman Belinda for such a long time, and we finally went over and met her, and turns out she lives in a half way house! Which is a sober house with a bunch of other women! When we went over though she invited all the women to come over and listen to us and we ended up teaching 3 of them! Belinda, Brenda, and Georgia! Aaaahhh yay! They had the best southern accents I've ever heard in my life! My goal is to have a southern accent by the end of my mission so just count on it!
Anyways, let's just say Florida has a different breed of people! Quite literally! One woman in particular on the side of the street was very much high on weed, and loved to talk really close to our faces... anyways, she said when she saw us walking up to her, we were just glowing and that's the only reason why she would talk with us; because there was a different light about us. Another man we met while we brought a whiteboard downtown was very interesting. "JESUS is my best friend!!" I guess he really loves Jesus! *look at the picture with the whiteboard, and the big words Jesus with a scribble..." We both share that in common haha, but this man was very much drunk and had a bottle of tequila sticking out of his backpack! I've noticed that a lot around Florida! There's a lot of people on the streets that are always drunk! Craziness haha anyways, a few other things happened; we bought conch fritters from our friend Adam off the side of the road, we taught seminary at 6am, rode the bus with our bikes, delivered some interesting chocolate chip muffins haha, and Wisline told us that she knows this church is true!! AAAHHH I love being a missionary! No really, I do!
This week I was really trying to focus on teaching with boldness and I learned that because I am a literal representative of Jesus Christ, I am entitled to use His power in accomplishing His great work! The only way we will be able to live with our families forever is by doing this work; because everyone on earth is our family! And I don't know about you, but I want to be apart of that family in Heaven:) one of our main purposes on earth us to share the message of Jesus Christ, but we can't do it alone:) the Spirit puts the power behind everything we say! You definitely don't need to wear a name tag to be a missionary! Take upon yourself the name of Christ! He has so many names, so I challenge you to focus on one of them this week, and strive to be it!
I love you all, and have the best week ever:)
Love,
Sister Jensen
