Coming in hot!!
Let me tell you, this week was a rollercoaster to say the least!
To put it into perspective, Hurricane Nicole decided to slide in, and our whole zone and the zone above us had to evacuate and move to Fort Lauderdale! So fun right?! Yeah it actually was such a thrill! I've been wanting to evacuate because of a hurricane so badly my whole mission, and now I can finally check it off the bucket list haha (I know it's weird, but that's just how it is :) it really is the little things in life!) Anyways, while we were there, we stayed in a hotel, and boy do I miss queen size beds! Never thought I'd say that, but like I said, it's the little things in life! We also had the opportunity to be recorded for family history ads for Facebook! It was so fun, but kind of scary! It was like filming a TV show, and I messed up A LOT (let's just say I can not say ancestors for the life of me! It's just not possible) side note; I started learning French, and the only things I can say at the moment are cat (chat), horse (cheval), how are you (ce va?), woman (la femme) haha it's a working progress, but I will be fluent in French one day, you just wait!!
What's crazy is that the day I started learning French, we got a referral from a girl who just moved here from France and French is her first language! Craziness!!
On our way home, we stopped at our branch president's house for lunch and they gave us a tour of their Gatsby mansion! Here are some cool things about it:
- Elder Jeffrey R. Holland stayed in the VIP room!
- there is an elevator! (3 floors)
- their house is on the ocean! Yes. On the ocean!
All I wanted to do was put on a big, blue, fluffy dress and descend from the twisted staircase and drink erbal tea with mini sandwiches, and then go outside in the courtyard and pick flowers for our picnic on the sand... aaahhh a girl can dream lol. No but because of the Hurricane, there were actual waves on the ocean and it was SUPERCALIFREDGALISTICEXPIALIDOCUOUS!
Guess what?! I held a gecko and I could have held the snake, but my heart was pounding lol (turns out I don't like snakes that much... gecko it is:)
We had an amazing opportunity this week to be apart of a missionary bootcamp! Our stake and mission has set a goal for each area to have a baptism every week, and so the bootcamp was about how we can accomplish that! Something that really stuck out to me that didn't before is that God has agency too!! He chose to put us on Earth, and give us experiences that will guide us back home to Him! He wants that for all of His children, and that's why missionary work is so important! God knows His children personally, and He loves them! I know it, and I cannot ever deny that! I've seen the way He has changed people into the person He knows they can become! We all have potential to be great just like Him:) If we have faith, we can literally do the impossible! As a mission, we are focusing on setting impossible goals, because with God, the impossible becomes possible:) remember you can do hard things!
Genesis 1:27- So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them
You were created to become like God! Remember that! "Be heard! Be strong! Be proud! (10 cookies to anyone who can tell me what movie that's from hehe) have a miracle filled week! Talk to you later!
Love,
Sister Jensen
