Argentina won the world cup...?
Holy guacamole!! Another week for the books! First off I just want to say how much I love it here! Being a missionary is one of my favorite things in life! AAAHH I love it more than acai bowls; and that's saying a lot!
Which brings me to the first subject... we made homemade acai bowls this week for dinner and all I have to say is *chefs kiss* if you haven't made or tried them yet, run. That's all:)
Also something amazing happened this week! Well a lot of amazing things happened this week! It started raining A LOT so we jumped in the puddles and made rain angels:) why you ask? Why not?!! It was so fun! That's another thing you need to do asap! It's better than snow angels:)
Okay so for the first miracle we have Fernando! He's a member of the church, but he comes every so often and we decided to give him a call one night and see what's up and how he's been and when we told him we wanted to read a little scripture with him, he said he had to run to his car to grab his Book of Mormon which he's never done before! I didn't even know he still had his Book! And when he got back we read in Alma 32 and I told him about Ether 2 when the Brother of Jared is commanded to build barges! He was so fascinated and insisted that he was going to read those chapters later that night after he went to listen to heavy medal! (Disco night is on Wednesday I guess) AND THEN! He randomly insisted on telling us about a missionary experience he had this week! So he Uber's people around when he has free time to make some extra money and he said thus one lady got into his car and saw his Book of Mormon sitting on the seat and started asking questions about it, and his religion, and church , etc. And they ended up both sharing their stories and he bore testimony of the church and of the book of Mormon and God, and she started crying and at the end of the drive they both got out and gave eachother a hug!! How precious is that? I could barely contain myself over the phone!! It was sooooo cool! GOD IS SO GOOD! Later we promised Fernando that if he came to church then the team he wanted to win for the world cup would win (Argentina)... well... Fernando didn't come, and Argentina still won... we are going to have to have a little talk with Heavenly Father later lol jkjk!
Alright, moving on... as a mission, we have set a goal to testify 25 times a day in some way, shape, or form. So we decided to take on the challenge and go downtown with one of our members and talk to as many people as we could! With that mindset right off the bat, we met 2 super cool people, Tae and Reggie! Tae mentioned that she had friends from a while ago on missions for our church and was interested in learning more about our church and coming too! And Reggie was a member, but just hasn't come back in a while! We got his number and so hopefully he's able to come back to church soon! We kept on walking and I'm pretty sure we ended up testifying more than 25 times, but it just made me so happy and excited! We met a guy with biodegradable shoes, a beetles fan, handed out a Book of Mormon! It was a successful outing to say the least:)
As I've been reflecting a lot this week about Christmas coming up, I just wanted to say how much I love my Savior, Jesus Christ! He's my best friend, brother, examplar, Redeemer, guide, and most importantly, he's my light. Christmas isn't about all the presents! Don't get me wrong, the gifts are amazing, but they are only temporal. Jesus Christ is the greatest gift, and that one lasts for eternity! I love this gospel. It is perfect and beautiful! And I love all of you:) have a fantabulous week, and I'll see ya later!
Love,
Sister Jensen
