"Rock On."
Can we talk about how it's December already! Like Christmas is 20 days away! AAAAHHH It's insane!!
Anyways, so pretty crazy story... transfer day... the day I met my new trainee... all the trainers sit in the chapel and all the new missionaries sit up on the stand in front of us! And at this moment, we still don't know who our companion is going to be! Well I watched all the missionaries walk in, and when I saw one sister the vibes were just good:) she was all smiley, and I just new! And turns out I was right haha! My new companion is Sister Arlint, and she is AMAZING! A literal superstar, and a firecracker for sure!
Let me give you an example haha so we were teaching a friend, and the first thing that she says is, "so were you even happy? How does that story effect you now? What are you going to do about it?" And then she shared the story of Alma the younger... and if you don't know that story, go read Alma 36! It's AWESOME!
Anyways, here are some other highlights from the week:
- we spent our first day at FAU and handed out SO MANY Christmas flyers!
- went to downtown delray with a bunch of our members, and also handed out flyers and light the world cards! Unfortunately, we found a couple on the floor, but it's okay; keep on keeping on! We had gotten a big stack of them, and we ended up handing out half the stack!! Our members are amazing:) there was also a 100ft. Christmas tree, so you know it's good:)
Okay, one more thing! We decided to go have breakfast with one of our members and while we were sitting at a table outside this random man came over and literally sat down right next to me, pulls out a cigarette, and starts smoking it while blowing the smoke all over us... umm hi! Let me just pull out this picture of Christ and a Word of Wisdom pamphlet real quick:) we laughed about it later...
I just want to say how grateful I am for this gospel! Especially the Book of Mormon! As I was reading in the scriptures yesterday, a scripture stood out to me, and I want to share it with you:)
3 Nephi 22:10
For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.
I love love love this scripture because it truly shows us that Jesus will never leave us! No matter what is going on in the world, He will always show His love and kindness towards us! I know that one way He shows that is by the scriptures:) that is where we learn to become like Him! I know they are true!
Have a fantabulous week! Talk to you later:)
Love,
Sister Jensen
