We're coming for ya Francisco!!
Heyo!! I don't think I've said it in an email for a while, but I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY! This week was slower, but it still was amazing, and we still saw miracles!
If you already looked at the pictures, you probably saw the big seed Sister Arlint is holding, and we found it waiting outside of Red Lobster for our friend Ivan! In her own words, "it's like a dinosaur... aaAAAHHhh!" Ivan is the sweetest soul on this planet! He takes us out for dinner all the time, and I am just so excited for him to be baptized!
Now that reminds me! We went to a baptism on Saturday for someone in our zone! I just have to say, I LOVE baptisms! Quite literally:) they always bring the best feelings and I know it's because that person is taking the first step towards our Savior! Baptism is only the gate to so many blessings, and one of the blessings is living with families forever! They had all the missionaries that were there go up and sing that song! Music just hits different you know? And it always brings the spirit! One song that I love is When I am baptized! I've realized that as I've been out on my mission, I've become a crier... in a good way though haha, but everything I hear that song I cry!
"I want my life to be as clean as earth right after rain.
I want to be the best I can and live with God again."
It truly shows how simple the gospel is and how much God loves us! This gospel is a gift to us from our loving Heavenly Father:)
Anyways, speaking about the baptism, we had 4 friends come to watch it:) one was ivan of course, and the other 3 were friends of our member Jordan! I asked one of them what their thoughts were, and he said "I could really feel the essence of the spirit." YAY! That's what we like to hear! MIRACLES:)
Okay, and for one last miracle:) yesterday after church, we asked our members Zane and Peter to come visit a recent convert with us because we haven't seen him for a while! Well here's the thing about Francisco... he ONLY speaks Español! Yep. So you can see how it can be a little difficult to communicate:) right when we knocked on his door, he and his cousin pull up in his car behind us!!! Craziness! We went in, and Zane and Peter taught a whole lesson to them in Spanish! We just sat there like proud moms haha! What makes this miracle even cooler is that Zane and Peter just got home from their missions a couple weeks ago, and it was cool to see them do missionary work! AAAHHH God is just so good!
At church, Sister Arlint and I ended up having to give "filler time" talks haha... I wasn't laughing then, but I am now lol there was 30 MINUTES LEFT! I definitely didn't talk for that long, but I realized that it's getting less and less scary every time I go up there! I knew it was coming because my heart was pounding, and the second speaker was already baring their testimony with 30 minutes left haha good times!
Okay, one more thing! I promise! We had zone conference this week, and we spent some time focusing on preparing ourselves and our friends to take the Sacrament on Sunday! One thing that I learned is that the Sacrament really is the link to the Gospel of Jesus Christ! It helps us endure to the end, and without it, we can't keep our baptismal promises. If any of you remember the story of Alma the younger in the Book of Mormon, it's one of my favorites:) Alma started off a little rocky at first, but through Jesus Christ, he was able to change and become one of the greatest missionaries! The key part of the story is that Alma started off rocky! We all have the ability to change and become better, and that comes as we take the Sacrament:)
I challenge all of you to focus on the Savior this week, and think about how you can prepare yourself to take the Sacrament this upcoming Sunday!
That's all I have for you this week:) love you lots!
Love,
Sister Jensen
