Goodbye Gateway YSA!!
Well friends, the fun times in the YSA are coming to an end! I'm getting transferred back to Fort Lauderdale, and my companion is... drumroll please... SISTER MCLEOD! WAAHOOO! The party bus is back in town haha! We are going to be the tech sisters/ social media specialist in the mission! Lots of tears have been shed, but I'm still SO EXCITED for what's coming:) I think one of the hardest things about being a missionary is leaving your companions! Seriously, it's so sad because you know that you won't see eachother for a long time! We have shed a few tears, but all will be good!
Let's get on with the week shall we??
First, we went to the temple 2 days in a row! Yay! We went the first day with our zone, so the room was packed! Very very packed! And then we went the next day with Justin and Ivan for their first time going through the temple to do baptisms! They were so excited! It was awesome! And one thing I just love about the temple is that no matter what is going on in your life, when you go to the temple, all your worries go away! This weekend was also stake conference, and the theme was all roads lead to the temple! So it was pretty fitting! As I was thinking about it I was thinking about the perfect plan God has for each one of His children! God really is preparing every single person on this earth to hear the message of the Restored gospel! And because of that, ALL roads lead to the temple!
Anyways, we also were able to go to this fancy Valentines day dinner with one of our members, and it was the cutest thing! I took a picture of my food, but the picture is awful, so it doesn't look that good, but it was actually SO GOOD! haha so don't judge :) it was sad though because everyone only spoke Spanish, soooo we just sat there and talked to eachother lol oh the joys of being in South Florida haha
Anyways, we had one last miracle! We were at PBSC and we were on our way back to the car, and we noticed 3 people standing right behind our car! (Liv, Amanda, and Josh) We just went up and just randomly told them we were doing a survey on campus asking people what's a question you have for God?! It was so cool because we ended up talking to them for a while about different beliefs, and one of them, Josh, explained what he thinks the purpose of life is, and then he offered to say a prayer before we all left! It was awesome!
I know God is in every detail of our lives, and it is impossible to not see Him when you're looking for Him! I wanted to share one last quote from a talk that I have been reading lately! It's called "Remember Lot's Wife" by Elder Holland:)
"We can look back to claim the embers from glowing experiences but not the ashes."
"Dont miss the here- now- and- tomorrow because you are so trapped in the there- and- then- and- yesterday."
It's sometimes really hard to move on from experiences we've had, but God promises us that there will always be good things to come when we live the gospel of Jesus Christ!
Don't forget, you're amazing!
Love,
Sister Jensen
