Who wants the golden onion?!

Good morning! Happy Monday! So this week was a little hectic, so bare with me while I try to put all my scattered thoughts into an email!

One of my favorite days this week was last Monday when we went to the pier and watched the sunrise! Oh, it was a beaut! You'll see in the pictures! Everyday I am just amazed at how good God really is. He literally created this whole earth for us to have JOY! We have so much to be grateful for! After the pier, we as a district, went to the park and played some spikeball and the elders ended up catching an iguana, but they made the mistake of grabbing it by the tail, and the tail came off! Apparently, their tails come off ad a defense mechanism so they can escape if something is trying to hurt it! Well, he didn't escape, but it was disgusting! The tail has like hair in it... I don't really know how to explain it. One of the sisters was holding the iguana, and it turned its head around and bit her arm! She was handling it better than I would have lol. So let's just say, iguanas are mean, and they are not cute.

Also, this week was our first week doing trainings for the mission about social media! We went to the zone conferences and gave a demonstration on interactions for Facebook, and it was so scary! Public speaking is just not my thing, but Heavenly Father has a funny sense of humor, so now I get to public speak all the time haha. For the training I get to shoot my dear companion with a nerf bow and arrow, so its great:)

Quote of the week: "Papa!!" No questions can be asked... I don't even know hoe to explain it, but one of the elders said it, and we died for a hot minute.

Funny moment: we went to see our 91 year old friend Betty and she dug in her fridge for like 20 minutes just to give us an onion and a clove of garlic to take home! Love her to pieces though! So we gave the bag of random food to the elders:)

Best news of the week: we have 2 of our friends on date to be baptized! WOOT WOOT! Their names are Vengelina and Charles! Vengelina is a mom of 8 kids! And Charles is partially deaf with gold teeth haha! Love it! When we talk to him, we have to yell so loud. And even then he can't hear us... the crazy thing about them is that we were not planning on asking them to be baptized, but when we got there, the spirit took over and just started speaking! I love how the Spirit works like that! When you have faith in God, all worries go away.

Alright, in church this Sunday it was testimony meeting of course, and someone said, "do you have the faith to not be healed?" It made me think that it is in the times when we go through the trials that we need to have faith. Sometimes our way is not the plan God has. He has a better one where He can see everything, when we only get a little piece.

Love,
Sister Jensen
