Goonies Never Say Die!!

What a week! It sure was one for the books! I am not even kidding when I say this week felt like 5 in 1 haha.

We had the COOLEST lesson with our friend Jeffery and one of the youth from our ward on Tuesday! So we felt like we needed to share with him the restoration and it just happened to be that Andrey (the youth from the ward) just had the coolest experience with the Book of Mormon this week, and bore his testimony in sacrament meeting last Sunday! Andrey taught some principles, and was using scriptures, and stories, so it was TOTALLY AWESOME! It might be a silly thing to get excited about, but it's the little things in life! Then we get to the funny part of the story. We were sitting outside for the lesson on the steps outside of Jeffrey's house, so when we stood up, we had a little dirt on our pants, and Andrey just goes, "You got dirt. You need to wipe." He is the most friendly person on this planet, and in church he goes up with his parents to translate their talks for them because they only speak Russian! Cool right?! Yep.

The week consisted of a load of crazy things:
- We were over at a members house one evening for dinner, and as we were getting ready to leave the parking lot, we saw a man across the street trying to push his car because it broke down! We ran over, and it turns out he doesn't speak a lick of English lol, so we did our best, being the Spanish pros we are, and ended up pushing his car 0.5 miles down the street! Now, that may not seem far, but trust me, it was far lol.
- Sister Netane (a member in our ward) was whacking coconut leaves from the tree at our feet to keep the mosquitos away while we shared a message with her! She told us about the time she found out she had cancer, and went home, showered, got all dolled up with makeup, and nice clothes, and then laid in her bed in a position, so it was easy to move her when she died in her sleep. She said a prayer, and told God if it was His will, to just take her now. She woke up in the morning, and said, "I'm awake... I'm still alive!!" She is by far one of my favorite people on this planet!
- On Thursday we went to Miami!!! I don't know how anyone lives there. It is the craziest place I have ever been to, and the streets are a literal spaghetti bowl! It's like someone just threw a bunch of noodles on a table, and said, "these are the streets." But anyways, we were filming a music video, and it took us 45 minutes to find parking... Manuel is the elders friend that they are teaching, and he was born to be in front of the camera. He is so funny, and also doesn't speak English. So after we said something, the elders translated haha it was quite the adventure. That same day, we drove all the way back up to Fort Lauderdale to film another music video at Sister Esser's house!! I don;t know if any of you remember her, bust Sister Mcleod and I last year would go over and visit with her every week, so I guess you could say she is one of my favorite people!
- The morning of the filming we hunted for so long trying to find an adapter that we could use to fly a drone that our mission has for the video! We said a prayer and the last place we went to, the guy that works there just let us borrow his own personal adapter, and we just told him we would bring it back to him later! He has so much trust in two random girls that he has never met before! Well, when we were going to return the adapter the next day, we told him about our mission facebook page, and went to follow him, and Sister Mcleod had requested to follow him a couple weeks ago, and he just never responded! Crazy right?! God works in mysterious ways.
- On Saturday we spent 4 hours pulling out air potato plants from a butterfly garden! Let's just say I've seen a lot of potatoes haha. And it was totally awesome because Sister Mcleod and I got to reconnect with all of the youth and the members from the Pines ward that we served in together last year!
- We met the smartest 6 year old on the planet! When we went over to a member's home, he was sitting on the floor reading a science textbook... FOR FUN! He is the cutest ever! I would tell him an element from the periodic table, and he would tell me it's atomic number!

Something I love about this gospel, and about the Savior is that no matter where you are in life, and no matter what situation you are in, you will always have the opportunity to turn to the Savior, and He will accept you with open arms! He meets us where we are, and helps us to become the person we were created to become. Aaahhh it just makes me so happy to know that we are in God's hands! No one else's!

Love,
Sister Jensen
