I fed the 5,000 this week...
MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU... Yeah, I know Star wars! Anyways, it was quite the adventurous week, so let's get to it.
We had the most splendid time on exchanges, and so many crazy things happened. First, I was walking outside to get something from the car, and right as I took a step, a little baby lizard ran across and I squished it with my shoe... It was literally the saddest thing ever because I heard the little squish and everything came out:( I picked it up with a stick, and set it in the dirt. Then, I came back a couple hours later, and there were 5,000 ants devouring it, and all that was left was its skeleton! So, I guess you could say I fed the literal 5,000 this week. May not have been what I was expecting, but it still works I guess. The circle of life is real.
Don't worry though, the day gets better:) We started teaching this 14 year old Jeffery. He's so cool, but here's the situation. So we went over to his house for the fist time, and his grandpa was there, so we were like "Oh cool, he can join the lesson with us!" We thought wrong. He was a bigtime basher and very much against the church. He started telling us about Joseph Smith, and how he was married at 14 and had 40 wives, and the whole time I was wanting to ask him how that information would affect your personal relationship with the Savior, but I kept my cool lol. Through it all though, Jeffery kept asking questions, and just ignored his grandpa. He is the definition of elect! He even came to seminary and volleyball with the youth from the ward! Lets goooo!!
Alrighty, now let me tell you about Shantelle... SO, super cool that we finally got in contact with her after she sent multiple online referrals, and after all the times we tried to go visit her and there were police cars surrounding the complex. Anyways, come to find out that she was going to a church down the road, and had a crazy experience knowing for a fact that it was not the right church because she had a really yucky feeling when she went in. It is evidence that God's timing is perfect! If we would have gotten in contact with her, she would have never had the experience with the other church, and who knows what could've happened. We taught her about the Restoration, the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, and her face lit up when we gave her the book! We were so excited. Now this is where the weird thing happens... During our lesson, she said she heard a knocking in her ear, and we were telling her that it was probably the spirit confirming to her the things that we have taught, but on Sunday she went absolutely crazy and was spamming us that we didn't have Christ in our church. Hun, He's literally in the name... I'll keep you posted with her as well lol.
Okay I promise this is the last story haha. So we went to Miami this week! Yay! And let me tell ya, we stuck out like sore thumbs! We were walking down the street, and said hi to this one guy riding his scooter down the street, and he literally jumped off, and started speaking to us in full blown spanish... haha we may not know how to teach in Spanish, BUT we can speak a little Espanol! We got a lot from him, and ended up getting his number because he said he wanted to go to church! So yeah! Good times!
So now this is the last story, but it's a funny one. On friday, we had a mission wide car fast. Something unexpected always happens on biking days. We were 3.5 miles out from home, and I looked behind me and Sister Mcleod's tire popped!!! So we walked the rest of the way to our appointment, and afterwards we had to get to another appointment, sooo she biked 3.5 miles home on a flat... It's harder than it looks I guess. But it gets better lol we had another lesson later that evening, soooo as Sister Mcleod ran 2.5 miles to the lesson, I biked behind her hahahaha we were laughing so hard, so it took a little longer because we had to keep stopping to laugh.
This week was full of twists and turns, and a lot of people trying to turn us away from what we know to be true! But we have to press forward because help from the lord always follows eternal law. The Lord will deliver us from our afflictions, but only after we have proven our faith by submitting to His will. The Lord will give relief with divine power when you seek deliverance in humility and faith in Jesus Christ!
I hope that you all can focus on the Savior this week, and I know that as you do, YOU WILL see the hand of the Lord aiding you, and giving you power!! He loves you, and He will meet you where you are, I promise;)
Love,
Sister Jensen
